Hydrogen Fuel Cell heavy-duty trucks offer a
zero emission alternative.
The European Union (EU) plans to reach carbon neutrality by 2050, with the transport and logistic industry being called upon to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 90%. Industry action is pivotal, as over 75% of all freight transport today relies on road transport.
Hydrogen fuel cell heavy-duty trucks offer a zero emission alternative with high operational flexibility allowing for long-haul deliveries, while featuring a relatively short refuelling time. Hydrogen technology constitutes a good fit for a wide range of heavy-duty utilisation patterns.
A recent study commissioned by the European Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) produced a commitment to the joint target for the transport sector in Europe to deploy up to 100,000 FCH heavy-duty trucks, as well as up to 1,500 hydrogen refuelling stations (HRS) closely synchronised with FCH heavy-duty truck developments and roll out until 2030.
The Pioneer Hydrogen Refuelling Solution
The Pioneer 145 Hydrogen Refuelling Station is the ideal solution for small fleets of hydrogen trucks.
Pioneer 145 can service up to 6 heavy-duty trucks.
- Combined storage, distribution and dispensing solution
- Low cost - capital cost significantly lower than a fixed HRS
- Reliable - mobile nature enables units to back each other up, resulting in a more reliable hydrogen refuelling network.
- Mobile - rapid deployment, no fixed utilities
- Easily scalable
