Michael is a dedicated manufacturing expert, possessing extensive knowledge in both Operations and Engineering. Experienced in leading large complex customer focused global activities, Michael has developed a wide range of skills in leadership, manufacturing engineering, operations, and building high-performance teams and organisations.
Michael started his practical experience as a Metrology apprentice in the United States Air Force where he quickly became a recognised expert in Physical Dimensional Metrology Techniques. Following 11 years of service, Michael left the military with service related disability to pursue further formal education. Having obtained an honours level Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Engineering for Sustainable Development at The University of Cambridge, Michael joined Rolls-Royce as an Engineering Manager. Capitalising on his extensive practical and engineering experience, he quickly moved on to hold the position of Chief of Manufacturing Engineering for its two wholly owned Civil Large Engine facilities. In Michael’s capacity as Chief, he acted as the Technical Authority for Engine Overhaul Service whilst also owning global responsibility for the introduction, improvement, and industrialisation of Rolls-Royce’s civil large MRO engines.
Michael joined NanoSUN as Manufacturing Director in November 2020, where today he oversees the businesses’ manufacturing and supply chain strategy and operational delivery processes – he leads the manufacturing workforce in delivering innovative refuelling solutions, driving NanoSUN products, their market presence, and their impact on the wider hydrogen economy ecosystem.
