Dr John Vickers CEng, is a dedicated engineering professional with significant of experience in the energy and industrial gases sectors. Currently serving as the Chief Engineer at NanoSUN, a leading producer of hydrogen distribution systems, He is responsible for driving the company's technical strategy and innovation pipeline, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality and reliable products to customers.

Prior to joining NanoSUN, John held several technical and leadership positions at a multinational industrial gases company. These roles included: leading the development of packaged gas solutions for medical, industrial and consumer markets, management of multiple projects in the EMEA region installing air separation equipment on customer sites, and developing the control system for large air separation units with a focus on AI integration.  

In addition, he has been an active participant in the energy industry, having served as a director of BCECA, a trade association representing the engineering contracting sector in the UK. Is a contributing member of the BCGA and EIGA, serving on technical committees and presenting at seminars on topics such as: hydrogen, safety and education. 

John holds a PhD in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Leeds, where he investigated the influence of particles on the turbulence field of pipes and impinging jets, with applications to nuclear waste transport. He also hold a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering from the same institution.
